Create your legacy as a champion of youth employment and education in environmental conservation and sustainable agriculture!

Planned gifts of all sizes play a critical role in sustaining our programs for youth – now and for years to come. They help you maximize your impact and can minimize your tax liability. Options include gifts of appreciated stock, IRA distributions, and/or naming Greenagers in your will.

“I can’t think of a better way to have a positive impact than securing the future of our community’s youth. That is why I named Greenagers as a beneficiary in my estate plan.” David Sheehan

Legacy giving

Remembering Greenagers in your will is a gift for future youth whose lives will be touched by the work they do with Greenagers and a gift for the environment and our community that will reap the benefits from these future land stewards.

Benefits:

  • Your will or trust allows you to create a lasting gift that reflects values you and Greenagers hold dear.
  • You can modify your gift at any time.
  • You can use your legacy gift to memorialize a loved one.
  • The right plan can result in your estate paying less tax, allowing you to leave more for your beneficiaries.

“Those who know me, know that education of Egremont’s children is a passion of mine. Having the opportunity to continue to support them through Greenagers’ mission is very satisfying.” Susan Bachelder

Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD)

If you are drawing funds from your retirement plan because you have reached the age of 70 1/2, but don’t require this income, you can send these funds directly to Greenagers for an immediate and lasting gift supporting the education and employment of this and future generations of land stewards.

Rather than pay taxes on this income, you can ask your bank to send the funds directly to Greenagers, tax-free.

Gift some or all of your retirement benefits or life insurance plan

You can create ongoing opportunities for Greenagers youth by naming Greenagers as a primary or contingent beneficiary of your retirement assets or life insurance policy. The benefits will pass to Greenagers free of estate tax. This removes an asset from your potential gross taxable estate, saving on taxes in the future.

To designate retirement assets, use the Beneficiary Retirement Form through your plan provider. An extra step may be required to designate a 401(k). After your lifetime, the residue of your plan passes to Greenagers tax-free and to any other named heirs.
